Frequently asked questions
Quick answers to common questions about G-Starlink eSIMs and travel SIMs.
Before you buy
Will this work on my phone?
eSIMs require an eSIM-compatible device. Most phones released from 2019 onwards support eSIM. If you’re not sure, search your device model + “eSIM support” or message us.
Can I use it as my only SIM?
Yes. Most modern phones support eSIM as either a primary or secondary line. You don’t need to keep your home SIM active.
How fast will I get my eSIM?
Immediately after purchase, you’ll receive the QR code by email. Most customers install and activate within minutes.
How do I install it?
You’ll receive step-by-step instructions with your QR code. Generally: scan the QR code with your phone’s camera, confirm the install, and enable the new line in your phone settings before your trip.
When should I install it?
For most products, we recommend installing a few days before travel — but don’t enable the line until you arrive. Activation typically starts when the SIM connects to a network in the destination country.
During your trip
I installed it but there’s no service
- Make sure the new eSIM line is toggled on in your phone settings
- Enable data roaming for that specific line
- Set your eSIM as the “Primary for data” line
- Wait a few minutes, then toggle airplane mode on and off
If none of that works, contact us — we’ll either fix it or refund.
Can I hotspot / tether?
It depends on the specific product. Check the product description on the listing — hotspot support is called out explicitly when available.
What happens when my data runs out?
For most products, service stops when quota is exhausted. Buy a new eSIM to continue. A small number of products support topup — check the product page.
Can I extend the validity?
No. eSIMs have a fixed validity window. If you need more time, purchase a new one.
After your trip
Do I need to remove the eSIM?
You can keep it installed but disable the line. Some devices limit how many eSIM profiles you can store — if you hit the limit, delete unused ones.
Can I use the same eSIM next time?
Generally no — our eSIMs activate on first use and expire after the validity period. Buy a fresh one for your next trip.
Problems
I can’t install the QR code
Common causes:
- Already scanned and installed once (each QR code is single-use; contact us for a reissue)
- Wi-Fi connection required during install — make sure you’re connected
- Device running an old iOS / Android version (update if possible)
My eSIM was activated but never used
If you installed but never traveled, contact us — depending on timing, a refund may be possible. See our refund policy.
