Activation

Step 1 – Locate the Customer Activation Request

  1. Open the Activation Portal.

  2. Find the customer’s activation request.

  3. Check “Additional Notes” for any customer-specific requests.

    đź’ˇ Example: Special instructions for start date or plan.

Step 2 – Search the Order in Airtable

  1. Search for the order in Airtable.

  2. On the first line, check:

    • Customer notes
    • Internal notes
    • Cancellations or refunds

    ⚠️ Do not proceed if the order is cancelled or refunded.\

Step 3 – Confirm SIM Type & create Activation Line in Airtable

  1. On the second line in Airtable, confirm the SIM Type is Vodafone ES eSIM.

  2. Scroll to the eSIM Activation section.

  3. Click Add Order – a new line appears.

  4. Click into the line and check:

    • Line Item – Product name
    • Option – Variant purchased
    • Activation Plan – e.g., Prepago XL eSIM

Step 4 – Fill in Activation Information

Fill in the Activation Information section in Airtable:

  • Activate Date = Arrival Date (must match)
  • Days = Always 28 for Vodafone Spain
  • Activation Status = Submitted - Activation Pending (after HOMSIM submission)
  • Email Address = Customer’s email
  • APN Details = Ensure correct values

Step 5 – Submit in HOMSIM Portal

  1. Sign in to HOMSIM Portal.
  2. Click New Activation.
  3. Select Vodafone Prepago XL – eSIM (or the relevant plan).
  4. Enter the customer’s passport information.
  5. For email, enter hello@globalstarlink.com.au (QR code will be sent here).
  6. Click Save/Submit.

Step 6 – Update Airtable & Notify Customer

  1. After submission, the request will appear in at the top of the list of activations.

  2. Email the customer using the standard Activation Processed template.

  3. In Airtable:

    • Processed = Submitted - Pending for Activation
    • Add note: Awaiting QR Code [Customer’s Arrival Date]

Step 7 – Receive & Send QR Code

  1. On the customer’s arrival date (~7 AM Spain time), QR code arrives from Tour Tech Shop.

  2. If multiple QR codes arrive, match by MSISDN (local number).

  3. In Airtable:

    • Add ICCID
    • Attach QR code (must include phone number and activation code)
    • Update Confirmation Email Status = Sent via email or Sent manually

  4. Check in the Sent Items folder to confirm.

  5. In Airtable:

    • Processed = Yes
    • Note = QR code sent
