This guide covers two Indonesia eSIM products: Telkomsel and Tri.

Both eSIMs are designed for travellers visiting Bali and other parts of Indonesia. The primary difference lies in the:

  • data coverage
  • regional restrictions
  • and features like hotspot/tethering

Product 1: Telkomsel Prepaid Travel eSIM

Plan Options:

  • 24GB Plan: 20.5GB available for Bali, 3.5GB for the rest of Indonesia.
  • 40GB Plan: 34GB for Bali, 8GB for the rest of Indonesia.
  • 60GB Plan: 52GB for Bali, 8GB for the rest of Indonesia.

Key Features:

  • Calls & Texts: Not included in the starter pack but available via self-top-up using the Telkomsel app.
  • Hotspot/Tethering: YES, making it ideal for sharing data between multiple devices.

Common Customer Questions:

  • Does it work outside Bali?
    Yes, the eSIM covers Bali and offers an additional data allowance for the rest of Indonesia depending on the selected plan.
  • Can I use hotspot/tethering?
    Yes, the Telkomsel eSIM allows hotspot and tethering.
  • How do I top up for calls and texts?
    Customers can top up using the Telkomsel app to add call and text services.

Product 2: Tri Prepaid Travel eSIM

Plan Options:

  • 10.5GB Plan: 8GB for Bali, East Java & Lombok, 2.5GB for Bali only.
  • 24GB Plan: 18GB for Bali, East Java & Lombok, 6GB for Bali only.
  • 33GB Plan: 25GB for Bali, East Java & Lombok, 8GB for Bali only.

Key Features:

  • Calls & Texts: Not included in the starter pack but can be topped up via the Tri app.
  • Hotspot/Tethering : Not supported , which means data cannot be shared between devices.

  • Where can I use this eSIM?
    This eSIM has regional allowances for Bali, East Java (except Surabaya), and Lombok.
  • Why doesn’t hotspot/tethering work?
    Unfortunately, the Tri eSIM does not support hotspot or tethering.
  • Can I use this eSIM outside Bali?
    Yes, you can use it in certain regions outside Bali, including East Java and Lombok.
