Physical SIM Cards

Global Starlink offers a variety of physical SIM cards designed to work straight out of the box or with minimal setup. These cards are ideal for customers who prefer a traditional SIM experience and are available across multiple regions.

Types of Physical SIM Cards:

  • Plug & Play SIMs
These SIMs are activated before dispatch and ready to use on arrival. Customers simply insert the SIM card into their device upon arrival at their destination—no setup required.
  • Blank SIM Cards (No Preloaded Credit)
These SIMs require manual activation by a CSR or through a partner portal. Activation must be completed before the customer arrives. Customer details such as passport number, SIM serial number, and arrival date may be required.
  • Blank SIM Cards (With Preloaded Credit)
These come with credit already added, but still require activation to be triggered. Activation can be done manually by the CSR or automatically based on usage conditions.

Important Notes:

  • Ensure customers are informed whether their SIM is plug & play or requires activation.
  • Some physical SIMs may have roaming limitations depending on the carrier and country.
  • All physical SIMs must be inserted properly into an unlocked, compatible device.

eSIMs

eSIM (Embedded SIM) technology eliminates the need for a physical SIM card. Instead, a mobile plan is installed digitally via QR code or SM-DP address, offering faster setup and less logistical hassle.

Key Benefits:

  • Instant activation – no shipping delays or physical installation.
  • Enables dual SIM functionality.
  • Ideal for modern devices like iPhones, Google Pixel, and recent Samsung models.
  • Perfect for international travel, business trips, and flexible connectivity.

Important Notes:

  • Most eSIMs are data-only.
  • Some plans include limited local calling.
  • Installation instructions and QR codes are sent by email once the order is processed.
  • eSIMs are non-reusable unless otherwise stated.
  • eSIMs must be installed before the expiry of the QR code (varies by provider).
