Coverage:
  • Covers the US, Canada, and Mexico (catering to tourists).
  • Important for cruise travellers: SIM cards may only work at ports, not at sea.

  • T-Mobile (T-Mobile $50 and $55 plans)
  • AT&T (AT&T $65 plan)

Plan Inclusions:
  • Unlimited data in the US.
  • 5GB (T-Mobile) or 25GB (AT&T) data in Canada, after speed reduced to 128kbps (T-Mobile) or 512kbps (AT&T)
  • 5GB (T-Mobile) or Unlimited (AT&T) data in Mexico
  • 200MB (T-Mobile) or Unlimited (AT&T) in Alaska
  • No hotspot or data tethering (technically T-Mobile has Unlimited at 3G Speed US Only and AT&T has 5GB High Speed Data US Only then slowed to 128kbps).
  • AT&T has better coverage than T-Mobile.
Service Durations:
  • 7, 10, 15, 20 days - Known as ‘Daily Plans’
  • 30, 60, and 90 days - Known as ‘Monthly Plans’
